Seven storied stone pagoda in Tap-pyeong-ri (hangul: 충주 탑평리 칠층석탑) is a 14.5 meter tall stone pagodaat the bank of Namhan River in North Chungcheong Province, South Korea. ==History== Most probably it was built during the reign of King Wonseong, and it has a style which was typical during the period of the United Silla. It might had been surrounded by a block of temples. There were found relics from the pagoda in 1917 and there remained a mirror from the period of Koryo dynasty. There is a legend which says the pagoda is at the centre of the country. When two people from the Northern and Southern end of the State wants to meet, they have to step the same amount, and if their speeds are equal, then they will meet here.
